POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Quarterly Meetings

Quarterly association meetings are held on the third Thursday night of the third month of each quarter (March, June, September, and December). Registration shall begin at 6:00pm and dinner at 6:30pm. Hosting townships may change the scheduled date of the meeting in the event of a conflict. Arrangements are made by the officials of the four hosting townships in charge of each quarterly meeting:

  • First Quarter (March) – Canaan, Cardington, Gilead, Washington
  • Second Quarter (June) – Bennington, Lincoln, Peru, Westfield
  • Third Quarter (September) – Chester, Franklin, Harmony, South Bloomfield
  • Fourth Quarter (December – Annual Meeting) – Congress, North Bloomfield, Perry, Troy

Arrangements for the location of the next meeting must be confirmed in time to announce at the previous quarterly meeting. The menu is to be determined by the host townships and communicated to the Secretary in time to be included on the meeting invitation/reservation forms mailed to all members about three weeks before the meeting.

Reservations with payment must be received by the deadline. Cancellations and refunds are permitted only if notification is given before the deadline. The Association is obligated to pay for the number of meals planned with the caterer even if there are “no-shows”.

Traditionally, the officials of the host townships are in charge of door prizes. No one else is obligated to bring a door prize.

Officer Compensation

The President and Vice-President receive no compensation. The Secretary and Treasurer receive $100 each per year. If a single individual serves simultaneously as the Secretary and Treasurer, they will receive $200 per year.

Mailing Address

The Morrow County Township Association shall maintain a post office box at the Mount Gilead Post Office as the official mailing address of the association. Keys to the box will be maintained by, at a minimum, the Secretary and Treasurer, and by other officers as necessary.

Know Your County Officials Booklet

This booklet with township officials’ names and county officers’ information is published every two years in the even-numbered years. A committee is named by the President at the preceding December meeting to assist the Secretary-Treasurer in planning, printing, and distributing the booklet.

Financial Donations

The Morrow County Township Association is dedicated to the support of the youth in Morrow County. The Association donates every year to the Morrow County Junior Fair, helping to pay for 4-H awards, offers scholarships to Morrow County students, and donates to the OTA Scholarship Fund. These are standing motions that are in effect until rescinded. The amount donated to each shall be voted on and approved by the membership annually.

Illness, Bereavement of Members

When notification is received of a member’s hospitalization, the association will send a floral arrangement to the member.

When a member dies, a donation to the specified charity or a floral arrangement will be sent.
